Myself and a few of my mates from Klerksdorp LTB fished at Bloemhof on the 4th and 5th of December. Saturday morning we headed up to Bamboespruit from the NWP camp grounds at the bridge. A long 26 km run. We planned to fish for barbel on the Saturday and carp on the Sunday. We put some minced mielies down at a secret spot on the way to area we planned to fish for barbel. The depth was 11.5m. We fished for barbel most of Saturday morning and were rewarded with some nice fish. Biggest begween the boats was 18.5kg. We landed quite a lot of fish in the 8 to 10kg category, but the monsters did not show. Some pics below. This was my sons first fish just on 8kg.

Sunday produced some of the best carp fishing I have ever had at Bloemhof. The fish were all in the 4 to 6.5kg category. Between the two boats we probably caught in the region of +230kg of carp between 08h00 and 13h30 when we had to leave and head back home. These are some of the 6kg fish.

My son was chuffed with this fish (looks like a mirror carp) Don't see too many of these coming out of Bloemhof. Weekends like this just confirm more and more what a great fishing destination Bloemhof is.
