Black mussel cracker trace-bait

What in your opinion is the best trace and bait presentation for a good sized poensie with a circle hook???

In my times going for poensies i've found that a strip of chokka and the head half of a sard works best. a longish leader (40cm) of thick line and a shorter thinner line for your sinker. Use a running trace and give the fish a chance to chew the bait a bit.dont strike on the bump cause you'll prob miss it. REmember there arent that many of these guys left so fish responsiblya 5kg one is nothing but a baby!

Matthew,I still prefer normal J hooks for poensies..sometimes I hook them between the crushing molars...let them pull you flat and then strike..occie legs work well as well as cut bait,mainly strepies..good luck!

Personally i wud say normally J hook as well ...
