Biggest Fish Caught on a Trini 30A

Hi Sealiners,

What is you biggest fish caught on your Trini 30A or if you know of anybody that has landed a beast on it?

Would like to know the power of this reel.

Was told I was mad to sell my Saltiga Hyper, won't land a shark over the 200kg mark.

True or false?

Yet to get stuck into something substantial with mine but have EVERY CONFIDENCE in her !!

Simply the best reel I have fished to date..

Will be keen to see what the other manne have pulled. Sure Darius has some big toothies under his belt using em..

Boet if a torium can land a +180kg nunu then a trini most certainly can! Think the sa record bronzie was landed on a trini ? Or was it a torium?

Speacking undar correction but think Noweeds landed it on a toruim 50.

I dont think the trinniA is a big shark reel,it lack`s line capassaty and space for a big leader. Just my opinion

Agree with Abaddon, fished with Darius a week ago and that 30A looks tiny in his hands, but getting used to the reel is the first thing. Saw him pull in a falsebay bronzie in quicktime, then received an earfull for asking how the drag on the ipod was

SA record Bronzie of 250cm PCL or 225kg was caught on a tor 20 which has 100% the same capacity as 30A but way less drag and protection features

Can you land a 200kg+ fish on your's, depends on your skill level but chances are very good you will but put the heat to him early.

I've personally witnessed a 200kg+ bronzie landed on a torium 30 so I reckon a trini 30 should be able to do the job 95% of the time.

That said however, all fish don't fight equally hard. I'm sure there are 150kg-200kg male bronzies out there that will strip you on a size 30 reel if they are in a foul mood...

Just been given the Trini 30A and had my first few casts with it yesterday (Conditions not too good at Strandfontein).Casts well and plenty power on retrieve.Think I`m really going to like this reel!!

Heard people say the internals of the trini 30A is a downgrade of the old golden one's with thin plates, drag plates not covering the whole drag face and pewter parts.

But no doubt it can land big fish, as skill of the angler plays a big part.

Each to his own opinion:SSS

at least on the old one you don't have to remove everything to get to the bearing on the other side
