Thanks!few pcs white oak in there as well. maybe on / 2 others.
The most are iroko and afromosia are very close, think these may be your best bet, only subtle grain differences, think this may be best. the gonco alves may have a shimmer in the grain which may be nice.
Can stain the timber before coating, or wood wash to get colour, then overcoat, grain will still be showing if you are careful.
Tip, rub wood with wet/damp thinners rag, before staining to fill pores,. it stops leaving wipe stop marks. can also use to lighten stain colour if too dark.
Need more let me know so can collect one side for you.

I rate that stain will look pretty good! Those are good colours! A bit of a combination between natural and colour! Cool idea! I'll go check what's available here and give it a whirl.Could stain before sealer coat, light stain will bring out grain more. for texture can scrub with wire brush and water to deepen the grain in grain direction!, then paint and sand top colour off so only colour in the grain, then overcoat for textured / variant in finish.
Stains are red white yellow blue etc not only brown. If need blue have plenty 4 u
Not sure! will need to make a few calls. The primary colours are used to mix the varied colour stains. From red, blue, yellow and green you can mix most colours. Would have to get from specialist (Quick tint or the like) do you have one in Durban? or Technipaint may be able to help you?
Well that would make sense. Putting it like that, it sound very cool! I unfortunately wasn't sure, in fact I just mailed him 10 minutes ago to ask about his intent because he has seemed quite off with a lot of negative posts. I am hoping we can resolve it.
With refrence to Tauruck's comment:
Considering
a) The intended "job" of a lure
and
b) The "Purple Heart" is an US Military decoration for having been injured or killed in battle
it is quite fitting that a lure made from Purple Heart wood should be named a "Purple Heart Lure"
In fact it would not be a bad name for a new brand of (US) lures!!
OK, I broke the bundles up so as I make them you can name them!Zimbabwe Teak looking good.!! jarrah is deeper red.

Thanks!Don't know how much lathe work uv done a simple tip: when sanding finished, take some shavings in your hand and let the piece spin and polish up with the shavings, will give a polished shine.
Be careful can get hot and if you lose the shavings you could end polishing with ur hands. but works well
Eggzectly!no that's a shark headache provider!
photo too distant /too much reflection cant see the grain the colour looks right though could be iroko.
If post a clear grain pic I can tell u
