Big Blacktails

Last week we took a new dropshotter with us to show him the ropes. He landed himself a pinkie and blacktail. We all caught some nice size Blacktails until JGC decided to 'ruk die hoender' and land this 'oupa' blacktail.

how big is that blacktail? for some reason ive noticed that east of jbay you get a lot of smaller blacktails. go west from jbay and they increase in size. in cape st francis its quite an oddity to catch a blacktail of less that a kilo.

my pb - 3.05kg at huisklip. on 3.5kg suffix. thought i hooked a cracker but that monster came out. have seen some big blacktail there, even one on a 8/0 and "siffie" (while it was still legal)
