what you want is a falling barometer , that when a cold front is approaching and the fish normally goes into a feeding frenzy. So you don't want to fish on a low barometer but on a high barometer, so that when is falls you'll be there. so far the barometer wasn't very high for the last month or so. highest i got was 1015. A high Barometer would be something like1020-1025, low wold be 1008 and below. your readings are taken on a barometer set for the boland area because at sea level it rarely goes under 999. Lowest i had was 999hpa but normally 1005 to 1002. The thing is you not always able to fish according to mother nature...
When the barometer is high the fish feed at leisure, when its low they don't feed that well . you'll get the odd fish here and there. I did some homework on this and it difficult because when the barometer changes the wind changes, the 2 go hand in hand so when the NW is approaching the barometer will be low but when it rains the barometer will be rising during the rain so the front approaches us with a low pressure and when the front passes it rains but the High pressure is approaching now so the barometer increases.

One observation i had was was last year when the barometer fell from 1020 to 1008 the fish were in a feeding frenzy from Sonwabi to beespens, The Elf was on the bite and guys were catching them for a period of 2-3 hrs like they were in a pond. Unfortunately i wasn't invited to that party.....
