watter maand/maande dink julle is die bestetyd vir rekords? Ek weet location is belangriker as tyd obviously maar wanneer is babers op hul grootste? Is dit dalk begin winter wanneer hulle duk gevreet is om vet store op te bou? Of dalk spawning tyd (wyfies?) Dis die ander ding word wyfies so groot soos die manlike spesie soos karp of bly hulle klein?

Daar is twee maande wat uistaan. Die een is Oktober wanneer hulle mooi opgevet het na die winter en spawn tyd. Hulle is dan gewoonlik in uitstekende kondisie. Die ander is April. Die Tekkie Bekke begin die tyd weer los trek om vet reserwes op te bou vir die winter. Die werlike groot babers wil ook voorkom of hulle bietjie hulle gaurd laat sak om ook op te vet. Dus om jou vraag te antwoord: April. Let wel dit is maar bloot my opinie.
Wyfies word wel grooter as die mannetjies. Hulle is ronder en korter as die langwerpige slender mannetjies. Wyfies kan tot 2,5 cm vinniger groei as die mannetjies in dieselfde omgewing.

If we look at it basically,
October the fish have to feed to build up lost fat reserves and energy from winter. They have to build it fast to be ready and in peak condition to spawn. I used to use srdine from start of september to mid november. The oil and fat is high in sard scent trail is huge. Barber cant leave it alone, its what they need to get fat and fit fast. Than april, the winter is coming so they look again to build up all the reserves needed to go through winter when they dont feed regularly.
For me these months are when you will catch the most amount of fish and yes there will most certainly be big fish in amongst the pack. I prefer to fish the months when the bite rate slows down, this to me means that the small fish are not all over the place feeding like made and disturbing the big ones and tuggin on your bait. This is just from the natal perspective. But i catch bigger fish more regularly from december to may. than our bite really goes down as winter is alomost here. But i know in my province that winter will be the time i will catch my pb, and my winter prep of the 3 dams i will fish will begin very soon. The larger fish hold in the same area for most of winter, you find that hole or area with slighlty warmer water and you could find a pocket of fish that are 20 kg and counting. Works well over seas in both the states and eroupe and i have had success here with similar thinking. But for me the best time for a pb is anytime by the water, you get your scouting right, your bait selction and presentation right than there is no reason why you cant get that pb. Thats what i love about the sport, its like a game of chess in many ways, make your moves wisely and with thought and anything can happen.
