Best Way to Prepare Feeds

Hi Sealiners

Am planning a session next week at Klipvoor Dam

I bought Mielies, Chickpeas,Maples,peanuts, and chicken laying mash

How is the best way to prepare this feed do i have to soak it in water and boil it ??

Anything i can add to attract the fish ? Dips ? Sugar salt?

You need to soak ur feed first for about three days then boil it till the mielies are cooked through as out of those feeds u mentioned they will be the last to be cooked through. Not sure if that is a sweet or salty kind of dam . If you gonna add salt add it during the cooking process. If you wanna add super I would say soak your feed in coke cola for 3 days. Then pour off coke ( don't throw it away ). Boil feed in water till ready the throw away water. Bring the coke to the boil , add about cup n half of suger to the coke and pour this mixture over your feed in the container you gonna be keeping it in. The reason behind this is the coke and suger mix should form a goo which works well when dropped with feed ,as it sinks with the feed it oozes all the flavours. Hope this helps you

Please just make Sure that your feed is cook 100%. As under cooked feed can be dangerous to the carp and could cause death

I have tried it yes. Got my PB of 9 kg and my friend got his PB of 14 kg the same day with that as ground feed.

It is a mission yes so I tend to stock my freezer one time , then take what I need.

What are you gonna be using as hook bait ?

You have to be very careful with peanuts, if not prepared correctly it can be fatal to carp.

I have dough, specimen boilies, tigers

What did you use for your pb? Any suggestions for good carp baits?

If u gonna be using tiger then be sure to add like a hand full of tigers to ur ground feed mix when cook it.

I've been successful on tigers most of the time. Every time I go out I do at least one rig boiles thou. The thing is if you fishing boiles you need to feed boiles some chopped up and some whole.

Try one of each and see what the order of the day is

I don't fish with dough so I wouldn't know how that will work.

A good flavour so far that's worked for me is choc tigers with the coke ground feed.

Try adding a half a tea spoon of yeast,the brewing kind and allow to ferment for about four to five days after you have cooked your seed mix. I find the smellier the better

Damn and i did not buy tigers to add into my feed mix.

I will start making the feed tomorrow hopefully it goes well

How do i make the feeding balls to stick so they don't break ? I don't have binder am sure flour can work? To make feeding balls

Are going to be taking the feed out with a bait boat or canoe ?

If you are then leave them as loose particles .
If you gonna be casting as mielie bomb then I guess add your feed to some Boulyn or super cast as you normally would make a bomb. I have done this before too and works as it breaks down once in the water to expose your feed mix:alien

I don't have a canoe or bait boat something i need to buy

Am going to make feeding balls and use a sling to cast the balls in. The dam am going to don't allow boats.
