Hey guys, can anybody recommend a charter? I have found seahunter (www.seahunter.co.za), have anybody fished with them before?

Hi Pipeman

If you want a top skipper and any specialised fishing, then contact Ant Diplock 0725018302. He is currently based in the area, after years of guiding in Moz. He has a quality boat and tons of local knowledge.

I don't think he has a website, give him a call on the number I put there and he will be able to answer all your questions. Good luck!

Usually from Umkomaas river launch site,as far as I know. I see him launching there every time I go spearing.

I spearfish as often as I can and sometimes fish with my 2 boys for small stuff like blacktail ect.

Hi Pipeman, you won't regret it. The ideal thing would be to get a couple of mates and charter the boat. Ant is very capable, and will get you into the fish you are after, depending on the season etc. Umkomaas is very close to Scottburgh. All of the charters in the area either launch from Umkomaas or Rocky Bay, as there are very few boats that launch out of Scottburgh itself.

We only going to be two people and will be there during mid July!

Hi Rory,

What fish do you normally get spearing? Would love to try that sometime! Do you free dive?

Im visiting a friend for his bday in Pennington during the 1st week of August, any recommended charters?

What would the main target species be during that time of the year?

Slightly off topic, Im packing a spinning rod with a few lures/spoons/ondas etc, any good spots for spinning from the rocks/beach?

Pipeman keep in contact with me, i'm wanting to organise a night charter end of july. Specifically targeting Dagga salmon after the sardines have past. I've communicated with a commercial skipper who launches from rocky bay (boat - Ruffian), but will also communicate with Caigs mate. Maybe we can go out together as a group to keep costs down.
