Best braid (to limit wind knots)

As one of the posts suggest, check your guides, the first 2 are very important. I have the same problem with lighter lures and am busy looking at changing the guides

I had same experience while back . What i found .  Guides are one of the problems.

But the most important is the reel. The braid is very thin and floppy so it does not come off the spool the way the ordinary nylon comes as it has certain elasticity. That is why even the smallest jerks of braid while comming off from spool ( braid digging in) can cause the knots , obviously helped by a side wind.

This new system Shimano introduced called - super slow oscillation - the line is packed next to each other making completely smooth unwinding during the cast.

Only few reels have that feature - obviously most expensive.
I have this one which I use for Carp but used already twice on bass and loved it as I did not have any wind knots at all . Not only that you cast far further then with any other reel.
For lure casting - the better braid is stiffer braid. But if you have this reel then that does not matter any more. I use 20 lb Jerry brown fused and it is very good.
