I got some Berkley Powerbaits (Jerk Shads) as a gift.

They were purchased in the UK.

I was really excited but upon opening the package I found that the 3D "Holographic eyes had already fallen off the baits.

These are the "Right Stuff" to have if you're into dropshot, RIGHT???????????????

I don't care who wants to sue me, moer me or just hope that I disappear but the response I got from BERKLEY USA was way below even our AFRICAN LOW STANDARD NORMS.

The reply went as follows

Poor quality, workmanship has a way of being swept under the proverbial carpet but praise gets you onto the World wide web. You will get your 15 minutes of fame.

Well Berkley "Jerkly" I just melted your big buck "Jerk" Shads and poured them into a better mold/mould depending on your command/use of the English language.

I will never buy another product made by this corporation or whatever they call themselves.

The only one that got "JERKED" was the customer in this case.

Good on you for not letting things just slide Tauruck. Any new pictures of your new lures/designs, they always look awesome!

Dude,

i've had similar issues from Berkely on more than one occasion, stopped buying their plastics ages ago, way overpriced and overrated, pure marketing.

I use to not like the product myself, but must admit that some of their gulp baits really does out fish other baits.
Now it is one of my top 3 choices when I go fish.

Not trying to up the name of any particular brand, but about after sale serves on plastic baits (even Crank baits), well, I don't think there is from any of these brands.

I'm very sorry to hear about your problem, and the poor response that was given.

Had a similar response from another American company (Kee Action Sports) Trust me, it's not a computer generated response.

Pure Fishing has a world wide network of dealers and distributors, As we all know the agency has changed hands and the agency no longer falls under Eezee Gold.

However, this network of distributors are each one responsible for warranties on any faulty Pure Fishing product inside their regions of representation.

I would suggest contacting the new agents (Beyond Fishing) and demand that the faulty products be replaced with new, none defective product.

Please try emailing my old friend at Beyond Fishing, hopefully he can help.

Can honestly say that Stuart Mcarthy is one of those really special guys who goes out of his way to please his customers!

Couta... I put my bottom dollar on it - if you ever have a problem with a Mcarthy Bait, one call to Stuart Mcarthy and it will be sorted one time!

I agree with Reefman - After the Bash in Transkei, I contacted Stuart as well, wanting to explore mutually beneficial possibilities.

He responded quickly to my call, and although he is tied up with Kingfisher, he was very polite and has not discounted the possibility of future relations, even if he has to have a chat with Kingfisher on my behalf.

He is a descent fellow and I believe he will back his product, just allow him an off day like we all have once in a while.

The thing that upset me was the attitude of the Americans.

I ordered a set of NASCAR wheels from a company in Oklahoma about 10 years ago and on one the robotic welder had burned a deep hole.

I called them by phone and they dispatched a new wheel immediately. I'm used to that kind of service.

It would have been nice if Berkley USA actually said they were sorry and sounded like they cared.

Now the local agent takes the rap!!!:fbash

Tauruck, the only reason you are getting joy is because you are talking to over 12000 anglers on Sealine. under normal circumstances they would have told you to take it back to the place you purchased it from, now leave us alone, We're busy counting your money. But I'm glad they are doing so.
