BAZARUTO SAILFISH SEASON '09

...still flat seas!!! Yesterday went way down south and on the way raised four sailfish simultaneously. Fish were shy but still managed a double hookup and a release on a +- 38 kg fish.

We then jigged most of the da in a pinnacle we found near St. Sebastian. It was pretty slow with only a few cuda and kingies released!!!

...we did however got into some nice wahoo as soon as we got to the pinnacle!!!

Today only fished early morning and got into some sailies, one of which really went haywire on the leader. Missed a really good photo here...

...not exactly the biggest fish Glandville as ever caught on the jig!!! This trigger was half the size of the 400 grams jig!!!

Started the last charter of the season with gary Loader and his three sons. Got this nice marble rock cod on a live bonito fished on the downrigger...

On Gary Loaders second day we went down south and again got some nice size wahoo on the pinnacle. We also hooked up on a 250 pound Marlin on a 30 pound stick and TLD 25 but broke us off after 5 minutes...

Still good action with sailfish but unlike last month they are now shy and hard to hook up!!!...but not all of them!!!

Back in Cape Town tomorrow night, 21h30 after a wonderful time doing a Med Cruise, another part of the world, WOW, still no details from you yet, someting wrong, cheers

At last, sounds like you enjoyed the med, great stuff. I will be flying to Europe on Wenesday and then start the season in Madeira on the 30th. Fishing as been red hot there with loads of big blues up to 900+++ released over the last week.

Just finished the sailfish season at bazaruto...had a great last day were we only went out for a couple of hours at dawn.

Left the resort in the dark and hookup at sunrise...
