There are a few routes you can go.....
12v or 24 V depends on how your boat is rigged.
You will require a charger that has a minimum of 10A for 105 AH batteries.
C-tek chargers are some of the best on the market but you are looking at more than 3K for a strong one.
I use a charger made by current Automation www.rectifier.co.za I actually have 2 as my first boat only had a 12v system my new boat is 24 V.
Their chargers are expensive (R1300) 10A 24 v they have a boost charge and when the battery starts to reach the right charge they float and trickle charge - I have a 12v battery that I have had for 5 years that has been used extensivly and still holds it's charge etc I can vouvh for these chargers -they are reallly really good

But how are they wired?

I assume one is a 12v cranking battery for the main motor and the other two are wired in series for the 24v trolling motor?

If this is the case your cranking battery should recieve sufficent charge from the main motor not to have to charge it on a regular basis.

The other two batteries if wired in series (24v) for the trolling motor are the ones most likely to need recharging on a regular basis.
If you boat is laid out as above then I would suggest going the 24v charging route as this will charge both batteries at the same time as opposed to having to by two seperate chargers - the batteries also recieve equal charge and therefore prolong their life - I home this make s sense - I sent you a PM with my contact no's just in case you wanna call me

For float tubes, the best battery charger would be:

Double cheese burger from macdonalds.... not too badly priced, around R30...

other good options are streetwise 2's from KFC, although KFC's have poked my battery before from "off" products....
Also causing some serious "trickling" charge

On a more serious note... how long will a none deep cycle battery last if always kept it charged? anyone had experience with it?

I think we just found the new Sealine :clow............

Depends they start lossing there charge the minute they are removed from a charger but when the battery is still new and in good nick it is milivolts that trickle out. Older the battery the quicker they loose their charge.

Putting load on a battery also makes a change. A battery may read 13.4 Volts put load on it and it drops to 10v then you know the battery is "quiched"........

Contact Greg or Verner at Deltec batteries Pinetown 0317017761(opposite the Steelbank near Natal Caravan). Their fully automatic chargers are great.  1/4 the price of the Ctek and better, because you have the 'M' modified models for the 105Ah deep cycles (15V Max).  The 10A 12V is around R500.
