:mermBass pond is not that bad, you should give Johan Greyling a call, he'll tell you exactly what is happening there.
You can always fish the Oliphants on the van Dyks road where Douglas coillery used to be, the area there is quite active with good bass and hooked into some good barble spinning for bass
Also you could try lake mistake and TNC on the off road from Komati/van Dyks road. All these dams will require some hussle along the banks, but the fish are good there when they are on the bite.
