Witbank dam definitely have some nice bass a guy caught a 6.045kg bass in September 1997 that was the S.A record back then.

I found a new place to get my fishing gear today, king fisher. in hunter street in durban. you cant miss it, its huge!!
So i went into kingfisher, bought a hole lot of new lures, without doing my match first, i went over to the till and the pretty girl rang it all up. Ooops, R300 please!
The best part about that is, no wife or any one to shout at me or make me feel bad!
just thought i would share that with you all.

Wibank proves to be a Whopper!
Witbank dambreaks the attendance and catches records again. This time over 200 fish are cuaght and 61 boats enter the field.
With the dam at 100% pool, and many reports of mixed fishing, this was going to be another showdown for all the right reasons. A record-qualifying 61 boats turned up to start the 2nd event of 2007, with hopes of qualifying for the Super 30 Shootout and possibly earn a bonus entry in the Wildcard system.
Richard Dunn and Bennie Wiese of team Vaalie picked up new sponsors and is now called Team Lanmetrix. Two good fishof over 1,5kg on top of their other three, earned them the top slot and they took a well-earned R5 500 for their efforts on a somewhat low scoring event with a bag of 4,68kg. Richard didn't want to give too many secrets away but confided to the crowds that a mojo rigged Senko in green pumpkin did the job for them along with Bennie's quiet persona that went balistic when a 6kg Carp was landed out of frustration. Sorry boys, carp are not the target.
Taking 2nd place for the second time this season Team Quantum's Leon Lategan and Nico Oosthuizen wieghed 4,42kgs. This also pushes them into the lead for the top team of the series so far. That's great fishing for the boys from the north. You guys now have a reputation to uphold.
Team Evinrudes Julian Smith and Pedro Caldeira caught the heaviest fish, at 1,59kg a monster for this event, as the average weight per fish was a measly 600 grams.
The Wildcard draw took place and while the crowd of over 120 held their breath, a belligerent Justy Varkevisser kissed the Lucky drawer as his team name was pulled from the hat. Does that mean that he and Ian won't have to fish hard to make it to the top 20?
Over 200 fish weighed must reflect a record of sorts compared to last years' dismal 20-odd in terms of an improved performance. With the breaking news of bigger prizes and partnerships with ESA, the race for the Top 20 will be in full swing, and talk amongst the anglers, with scores being so close, one cannot afford to miss a single event from here to September.
Loams that was the Article, I know not much info, but the important thing to note is that 200 fish were caught, so it seems like they are on.
