I was looking at the Abu Smoke with a smoke reel.
But for just over half the price i got a Sensation Magma and a Sensation Magma reel.
Also microguide and I am very happy, the reel is solid and the combo casts a mile. and it has a clutch brake system you have 6 settings on, or turn it off and use the mag system only, but both together work great, hardly any over wind.
Go shake the Magma around in the shop, for the price you might just be surprised.
Also look at the abu vengeance, a great priced rod..

Already have a Vengeance rod and I like it quite a bit.
To date I only had bad experiences with sensation bass rod the carp rods are fine but I broke two sensation bass rods.
One broke while casting a superfluke!!! thats just poor maybe I just got a dudd but it kinda broke my confidence in their quality.
I can get the Veritas and silvermax for R1600. Really like the feel of both and caught some decent barble with the baitcaster. Problem here is that our choices are extremely limited when sitting in the middle of nowhere!

It might be worth your while to drive out one day and go to a few shops. then play around with the rods, reels etc to see what you like best.
But the new range sensation brought out now is not at all bad, but then i have had only good service etc from them.

I've got them, and one rod matched with a black max.
I love them, sensitive, strong, light not to mention the good looks. I have only done battle with bass under the 2kg mark with ease still need to catch a pig to feel its performance. But to be honest about the reels is if I had the extra bucks I would of gone for the revo stx :kaykak
