hi guys

 

if you know the biggest fish caught per dam pls state details and pics would be great.like goedetrouw is huge.

 

even if its a semi private venue.just trying to put a trophy venue list together with biggest fish per dam.it is always good to know where you stand size wise and to compare sizes with dams inclose proximity to the dam

GT the dam at Welgemoed i personally saw a 4.52 kg Bass caught in the corner at the dam wall by 2 kids with a mepps black fury. It was released, and this was about 4-5 years ago. I also saw one once that just made my knees shake, wouldnt touch my lure and swam off, but i know from spearfishing one can overshoot the size by quite a bit if you get that excited. Last i was there there was a family of otters. This could hamper fish sizes quite a bit.

Mofam, near grabouw expensive, but the biggest there i think is 4.23kg.

Also one of over 5kg caught at Hillcrest estate by a manager or something there.

Ye but that dam is poo its like in a quarry thing and u can only rly fish one side of it. Theres too many of species of fish mixed in the one dam so its pretty poo and expensive.

r you talking bout magical forest?i know of a 5.8kg but was on live bait.i know mofam pretty well been there a few times.like second home now.

I fished hillcrest before they made it bigger now and it wasnt open to the public. You could fish right around the quarry and it was great fun. saw a picture of it the other day, changed quite a bit. Were a couple of submerged trees on the other side.

The official Goedetrouw record is in excess of 6kgs and have heard of several 7kg jobs having been caught by the Eshowe guys.  Think the chap is called John Millette or something..?

Exclusive Bass Angling dam situated in just outside of Nigel. Saw a 4,2kg caught there during Ocktober... But regular sizes of between 2.5kgs and 3.5kgs are caught there. Alot of sizes between 500g and 1.5kg are caught every time.
