Bass Fishing in Retreat

Hi Guys, the most unusual place to catch these buggers, and there are also some 3kg specimens there. A friend of mine took me there this Saturday, and he caught three whilst i was watching, the biggest was bout 1,1kg.  Its in retreat, i think its called Langevlei,

Just to confirm! This is the vlei you are referring too! It is situated in Retreat just off the main road, after Retreat Train Station.

I have yet to fish there, Its called Lankevlei anyone who wants to go wet a line there after work one day, give me a shout. I think fishing in groups would be wise at this vlei.

hi Ian

i've fished this dam before twice... yet to bring up a bass there. i live about 15mins from there if you wanna go down during the week.... i'll bring a few buddies with as its not too safe...

next week will be good... we can try small priness vlei to... lately its been a bit windy there but some good fish in there too. Was at rutter rd last night... it's closed up from the banks but theres a small area one can fish.

Hi did you guys have any success in Retreat? @Ian fisherman your profile pic, was it taken at little Princess vlei at the park, i got this one there last year i went back a couple of times but that area was was closed up by the algea has it been cleaned up yet would like to try again.

Yes i caught that one there 2 month ago. It has been cleaned but the bass ain't biting. Been regularly last week and the week b4 but no luck. It seem that the area is over fished.
