Dependeing on how many people you can go down as low as a 15hp.
Look at Bekkerian's boat in the LTB section.
That is one very smmart boat and for the price you cannot go wrong - that Boat will smoke my bass boat that has a 125hp motor on it.
Smaller boats mean smaller motors which mean that they are lighter on Juice.
My average day on the water costs about R500 on boat fuel alone. 4 days a month = 2k before you have paid for enterace traveling, food, refreshments etc.
I miss my old boat with the 40hp but I fish competativly and need the extra speed to get on the spots quicker.
Hope this makes sense

Trouble is You can be the greatest fisherman but when it come to being competative you need to be one of the first boats on the prime spots. 90% of winning fish are caught by the first boats on the scene.
A vast majority of fish are caught when spending the dying minutes on a good spot. Smaller boat means Longer travelling time which means you have got to leave the spot early.
I can pretty much guarantee most of the Consistant top 10 bass anglers in this country donot run motors less than 150hp or boats that run much less than under 100km/h.....
But then again I favour the underdog - alawys beware the underdog - I love being the underdog and showing the "Top-dogs" how it is done...................;)

Thats what i am talking about Ryan, one day the underdog like all the bass master classics will pop out off SA..  The thing is you also need to know where te spot are..Some of the bloks knows where to fish BUT thats not the only spots..This is the best forum I have ever been on.

Thanks for the great work.. Will post some new photos as we go on.

To the Bass Masters, I'm a carbon fibre dude mostly but I'll work with glass. To put it bluntly I'm in Buccleuch, a semi retired/retarded bass fisherman and I know my stuff so before you go to John Doe down the road and get your pride and joy filled with goop, extra uneccessary weight, pine, chipboard and worst of all CSM (Chopped Strand Matte) the stuff that belongs on a bus shelter and makes you itch just by looking at it try me. Seriously, don't take your boat to some oke that has his gardener waiting at the gate with a grinder in one hand and a 2 litre Coke bottle filled with resin in the other. You're all laughing! So am I.
