Those size barbel is probably the most fun on light tackle.

jet park dam( rolfes pan) does have some nice barble in and even nicer bass. my office is on the dam and often see pees with their tubes floting around.

This was caught about a week ago,i have permission from abeydale to use the gate from my office block to enter the premises. I dont have to pay the Bejane Fishing shop to enter the dam. I go quite often and also get the barbel on lead heads using the "calling " method as I am not the best with a fly rod!

You guys will enjoy flyfishing for carp 5-8kg and barbel up to 25kg in baberspan in north-west.There is plenty plenty fish and all is sight fishing.We fish there a lot and its no surprize to catch 10-20 carp in a morning session in the flats on baberspan.I hooked into a few big barbel in the 15kg class but diddnt manage to land them.But 5-8kg cast for cast

Spinnekop2, i can't seem to view the pic for some reason? Damn firewall!!!!!

There is also plenty of large Carp in the dam but there are not many bass, all been chomped by the barbel and don't get the opportunity to populate. Thinking of stocking at some point!

I'd like to head out west at some point, its true what they say....the further west you go, the bigger the fish!

hi stones awsome catches there bud. where exactly is this dam? and is it possible to fish it from the side? i dont have a float tube as yet.

Hi Eli,

In Jet Park and you have to belong to the Ubejane Fly Fishing club.

You can only access the dam in a tube or small floating vessel
