There is still a perception out there that the more pricey your tackle, the more likely you are to catch bigger fish
This fishing session disapproved that mentality enitirely. I hooked this bad boy on my most "under equipped" setup, a 1/2oz rated Daiwa bass rod and size 2500 Daiwa Sweepfire reel (which was missing a washer under the spool, that I replaced with a piece of plastic!).
What was even more supprising was that I caught a cat, slightly smaller than this, on the same set up the previous night!!
Bait was chicken liver baited on a circle hook.
