BARBEL AT GOLDEN HARVEST

HI GUYS

 

I HAVE HEARD THAT THERE IS PLENTY OF BARBEL IN THE GOLDEN HARVEST DAM.

IS THIS TRUE??

WILL THEY TAKE BAIT IN WINTER, AND WHAT BAIT DO I USE.

DO I GO SHALLOW OR DEEP?

I WANT TO GO THIS FRIDAY NIGHT.

 

HELP PLEASE

There are lots of barbel in that dam, and most of them are very big.

The problem is that they don't take a bait easily, and in winter they probably won't take one at all. Your best bet is a live Plattie, or if you can get some small kurper try those. Worms might work too, but not very well.

There are also massive carp in the dam, but I would advise you not to go at nigh, unless in a very large group, because unless it's gotten much better than when I last whent there, it can be a little dodgy.

Yeah J_Bay, the place can be very dodgy!
I have mates that fish there regularly and seem to do well, although I haven't seen any large fish come out at GH.
Worms almost always work for me, esp. snake worms but usually only in the warmer months, so maybe wait until October.

I've caught a barble on a spinnerbait there.

Don't go at night, that area isn't great.

Any truth in the rumour that there is Bass in that dam?

Hi Loams there were definateley bass in golden harvest before and even terapins i caught bass there barble and a terapin(turtle) this was a couple of years ago +- 8 years ago so i couldnt tell you if the bass are still there but they dfinateley were there

I caught nice bass there about 10 years ago. Sadly, most of them where poached out by the homeless okes that used to hang around there...I don't think there are any left...
