balloon fishing

does anyone have any advise on how to attach a balloon to your main line and when the live bait gets taken the balloon will detach itself from the line?

any other advise or help regarding balloon fishing will be appreciated.

Use the snap on a snap swivel to pierce the bit of plastic under the knot of the balloon. We dont want to litter very harmful plastic, so I wont advise a way of having the balloon detach when the fish takes the bait. In fact id advise you secure it as strongly as you can so that it can be retrieved and disposed of appropriately. Having the balloon detach is anyway unnecessary, cos as soon as the fish pulls it under the water, it pops and provides little resistance.

good point here about disposing pieces of plastic in the ocean!!!

the problem with using a swivel is it leaves a trail of bubbles behind it which the guys in the know say is not good( prob other fish hit it - not sure)

if u going to use one, simple make a fold in the line(u shape) and tie the balloon over the double line fold, when the fish takes, the balloon pops and if the line is not straightenned out disposing of the balloon, u can easily remove it urself when the line gets back to the boat. trial and error mate!

 again chance of polluting the water, so try and refrain.

once again , i get stones gooid at me , nevertheless , funny thing is the way i tie the elastic band onto my leader , they NEVER gets disposed in the ocean !!!!!!!!!:?:?:?

sorry lad didnt mean to put it across like that! i thinki im turning out to b like some of the sealiners here who forget the main aim and concerntrate on the nitty gritty
