I used to live there Indonesia Jakarta as an expat and visited bali often to get away from the big city , The fishing is rather poor Im afraid all fished out , however there seem to be some large King makrell (spanish ) around and if ure lucky gt's - You will need to go on a boat shore fishing is a waist of time. If u get on a decent rig and can go out about 10-20nm then you will get some nice fish as its out of range from the subsistence fisherman. The lombok side of Bali is probably your best bet least populated hence less pressure on the fish.
The people are very nice and very hospitable enjoy the trip.

Friend of mine does surfing/fishing trip to Uluwattu has some big GT'S from there.I think this year he had a few in 15-25kg size.All from the rocks with longish rods and poppers.

I don't know to much about the fishing but for next to nothing you can hire a car on Lombok and drive it all the way through to Sumbawa. So Take the Ferry to lombok and then Hire a Car drive across lombok and ferry over to Sumbawa it is far less populated maybe fishing is better.
