BAJA DAM

Hey guys hope you all keeping cool..because flip im cooking is this weather..anyway me and a couple of mates are hitting baja dam.never fished there  before.if you guys could share sum info about the dam.where the best place to fish is,bait and depth ?would realy appreciate it...

Good day

I'm cooking too this global warming thing is getting on my nerves. Anyway I have not been at bajadam before the weekend of the 25th will be my first time...but I did my homework.
here's what I'fe learned...The damhas A lot of grass so use a
"glystrop",and according to veterans of the dam they have killer barbels as-well (something to consider when placing biat on the hook)when fishing for carp use garlic floats and
honey mielies or something in that line,tjop-tjop balldips work so it should give you some idea!enjoy fishing there and please give me some feedback when you return.

Apparently the casting distance (if you are at the left side of the dam)is between 90 and 150 meters so it should not be a
problem.And I am told that there's bass as well.

WOW thats awsome id love to learn how to catch bass.. ive never tried it.... but i think its definitlly on the cards to try...

I use ZOOM Horney toads, junebug or black, retrieved on the surface as slow as possible, legs kicking...got some CATS floating frogs from Mias and planning to try them this weekend, possibly at Bronkies nature side

I have found more information hope it helps(it was from another conversation on sealine a while back)


Baits , SWD and garlic floats or banjo floats.

Dips - hasbeen , fx , almond supreme , hot honey , tjop-tjop.

Distance - fish between 60 and 150m.

Rigs: sputnik glyrietvlei or the sliding baby shoes ( Grass is a problem)

Build a good feeding spot , but dont over feed.

Insure you have a Barbal line in as there are monsters there.

yes there is grass, and a lot of people still catch nice karp and baber....
