Bait simulation while practicing casting

Hi All

Was just wondering what can I use to simulate a bait while casting on a field. Have been hitting the 110 metre mark using a small orange float, however this doesnt give you quite as much resistance through the air as a throw bait would.

What do you use when practicing ???

For throw baits a piece of broomstick does the trick, it can be cut to about the same length and is about the same dia.
