bait scent

Hi guys

Silly question i guess. I go to the coast only a few times a year. The rest of the time my Berkley plastics are stored in my tackle box above the garage. Do these lures lose their potent scent and become less effective after time, and if so, after how long?

 

Just curious, cos these are expensive baits!! Thanks
