Bait runner vs Big put reels

Hi All,

May seem like a stupid question but what are the core differences between a normal bait runner, in my case I have Aquila Genesis 10000's Is it line capacity or casting ability etc????

Some big pits are baitrunners for example the Tica Abys or the Shimano LC.

Baitrunner is a release mechanism allowing for immediate engaging of the bite drag to fishing drag.

Big Pit is a reference to a reel with large capacity, so named by English anglers, fishing in big carp pits where long range fishing was required.

The Ultegra is possibly the most known big pit and is a reel that will hold 900-1000m of 30lbs braid

Big pit reels also have a better line retrieve rate compared to smaller reels be it baitrunners or normal grinders.
