Chartruse Spinnerbaits work very well.
DLN's in Lavender shad
Senko's and brush hogs fished on a texas or mojo are very successful too. Fish so slowly that it is painfull

Finding the bass can be somewhat tricky especially them big ones.

june bug shads also works wonders, White and black spinnerbaits also works.
Baby Bass and watermelon red finesse worms or d-ringers also good.

the short version in my opinion is... Watermelon candy Brushogs (year round) and green pumpkin/junebug dead ringers in Winter. Spinnerbaits in Chartruese and White are also productive slow rolled in Winter and pretty quickly in summer.

stained water junebug flukes and the likes and find the structure pounch your lure either just past the structure or right next to it (as close as possible) that's where them fat ones are hiding when it's cold.

LOL ya i recon i'm guilty.

The vaal triangle is really a strange place, vaalpark is dead and gives my the "Hibbee Jibee's". Sasolburg reminds me of a ghost town called Silent Hill, Vereeniging is really tappet sqaure (I know why it changed so badly but cannot say it here) and Vanderbylpark.....well you decide.

I saw the vaal triangle turn from good to sour in a few years time, but then again i saw that happen to Nelspruit and Middelburg aswell as Witbank.

Basslover have you ever went fishing at a place called Spider Valley in the vaal?

hehehehehe....well i personally think every place has got his tappets and tappet areas, I dont like the vaal but hey i live here and need to make the best of it, the good thing is the vaal river and bass lake is here, so you just drive like 5 min. get into the water and catch some fish, in the summers i even go after work and get like an hour or twos fishing in, so thats awsome.
I have fished at Spider Valley before, i call it the Groen gat spider valley sounds tappet to say the least...but its really not worth it, have heard allot of people has been mugged there and worst killed and you catch rats the whole time, i think there is maybe bigger fish in there but ja, not worth it. if your in the vaal, Rather go to varsity dam, vaal river, vaal dam, bass lake, or if your really nice to me and pm me in the SUMMER i can maybe organise something at that pvt quarry hole where i caught my PB of 3kg there is some big fish in there and the water is as clear as bass lake...
