Get a 600 yard spool of 50lb Spiderwire .You'll get 600 yards of braid and then 180m of 0.55mm topshot. Use a stiched braid loop in the braid connected by a catspaw to the mainline.

If you fishing for biiig in-eds then go with braid. Strong and thin. You can get more line on your reel. Whiplash is good but expensive. Powerpro next.

If you are fishing for edibles only then use normal mono and then your preferred topshot.

shock leader...

what are you targeting and where? off the bricks or surf?

cheaper option coupled with a bimini twist is a snoek line windon 1.2mm-1.5mm for the bricks ( 500m for R120 = 55-58 8.5-9.0m leaders)

shock leader can cost between R90-R400 for rolls range between 20-100m

On the subject of Shockleader.

This depends the terrain you intend to fish.

1. .55- .70 for edibles from surf
2. .75 - .90 for bigger edibles from surf
3. .90 - 1.6 for in-eds from surf and bricks(rocks)

The cheaper option would be the Kingfisher leader line(from R19 to R59)

Then you have the more expensive lines.
