hi

dunno if its just me or what?

but i've moved over to the c+ line 0.18mm and it seems to break really easy in my hands like cotton when i pull on it? i'm not using allot of pressure either?

also noticed that there are some spots on the lenght of line that are stronger than other sections? which doesnt break so easily?

i found that it breaks also where i make a join to the leader?

yet the 0.22mm that i use is strong as steel?

mornong,i had the same problem and was going through a lot of line,so i went back to carp specialist 0.2mm and no problem since.i found it casts the same if not further and lasts a lot longer, plus it comes in 1000m spools.:fishn

Maybe just a 'bad batch'?

I love the C+ 0.18 line, got myself some last week to re spool my reels and havent had a problem with it at all. Fished a club comp this past weekend and nailed a decent size grass carp of just over 4kgs and the line handled it brilliantly. Its also really smooth in the cast and releases quick enough to get that extra bit of distance.

i do however still prefer the 0.16mm where there are no snags and can get a bit more distance on the cast

Just spoke to Enigma. He's really busy, and wont be able to get onto sealine right now. He asked if you guys with line problems could p.m him and he will sort you out. We just need to get samples of the line back to him so he can send it back.

Do you guys use a leader when using lines of .18 and .20  mm? and if not, do the lines withstand the loading ((r(e(ling of the rod when casting?

Also have the 0.18mm got it about 3 or 4 weeks ago. The weekend it broke as i was reeling in my line, only had a sliding rietvlei on with a M1 sinker.

Guys had a check on the spools in the warehouse and checked 40 boxes and found 1 that was sub standard.

As the line is made in 120km rolls and runs through heating and stretching processes it is quite possible that a portion can be defective

For that reason I will replace any of the defective line.

Without affronting anyone, as it is 0.18mm and if snagged or twisted on a guide a shimano reel will simply snap it with the reel's torque. Some people especially when new to thin lines can struggle with adjustment but i also accept that 99% of people using low diameter lines know what they are doing

That and the fact that I and Awa-Shima international want to avert a repeat it is returned to the factory for analysing and replacement.

As mentioned earlier please drop me a PM and when back from the guiding in the EC I will gladly replace the line but need as much of the sub std lines back

The Limpopo and GN U/19A sides fished the Nationals with the C+ 0.16 and 0.18mm lines and 11 of the u/19's using the lines went on to trials and 2 made Protea team and 5 Federation teams.

The biggest carp landed on the 0.18mm was 7.2kg and the biggest catfish was 14kg so these problems reported were then definitely a poor batch and must be replaced.

Hi Enigma,

Sorry - forgot about the Awashima mainline - a bit thicker than .16mm.

Actually, .80mm main line. May sound a bit ridiculous to some, but true.
