Auto Life jacket

Howzit Guys,

well after 2 years of blood, sweat and tears we have finally got the approval from the NRCS for our Auto Jacket.

These types of jackets are taking the world by storm and are proving to be safer than normal jackets.

We are importing them from a company in the UK that make jackets for the US coast guard, Aussie Coast Guard etc. The jacket have a hydrostatic mechanism so after 10cm of water pressure it releases co2 into the bladder becoming a life Jacket with reflective tape, whistle, manual inflator etc.

We used similar jackets while surveying, very nice and a lot more comfortable than normal ones. Cant see why they didnt accept them, we were using them for the last two years in the navy, so they must be good.

Its just SA we have to go through so much crap to have things approved! Well now its done so guys can buy these jackets without worrying that its not approved and there boats wont pass the COF!!

Those ones are alot better than the non inflatable ones. For intrest sake, how much are they? Remember they warned us its alot of money if we lose one, haha. I know the manual inflatables in general use by the navy is over R2300 or something.

Depending on the company that wants to distrupute them the cost wont be more than R1400.

This is for the fully automatic and manual type!!!

We are negotiating the pricing but will set a RRP cause some places just want to rip people off which is not what we want!!

I assume it will be supplied with a letter indicating that it is approved. Some COF centres are really full of SH1T. Seeing as we are both from PMB I won't hint as to who I am referring to.

I have an SRN number and was told that I can only do it at Pitts. If I do it anywhere else it will not be valid. I need to give back that number and reregister with another club/organisation.

You will know better than me - only due in Feb next year!!
