At the last GP social, Mussle (not my bad spelling, but his!!) cracker and Shagnrelease suggested a format with a difference for this years bash....

The idea was a combined Offshore/Rock and Surf event to be held at Cape Vidal in October.

Would like to see a show of hands of who would think about making a trip like this (particularly the Offshore guys) - who would drag their boats to Vidal for a week/weekend...

What would the logistics be like for organizing an event like this?

It's time for the Offshore guys to get involved... (or for Sealine admin to give them a chance in getting involved!) - so what do you guys say?

If not too many guys interested Offshore wise, then the R/S guys can head straight back down to HITW.
(and do not menshin ze pier in brighton, ja?!)

Here is an idea of the accomodation types and costs.

http://www.kznwildlife.com/index.php?/Prices-And-Bookings.html

I think its a good opportunity to get the whole of sealine involved, from R&S, paddleski and jetski(unfortunatly at this stage there is a rule of on three ski's launching a day) as well as the freshwater guys that want to get involved coastal. I for one would love to find out the hype of sliding a jube jube !!;)

we have built up a wealth of experience on the site, now there is an opportunity for a hands on sharing experience............(hmmm that sounded a little wierd, but you know what I mean.

The Shag awaits...

Guys, just 1 problem we said last year we want to see more ct guys! HITW was a distance issue i think vidal is going to be a bigger issue! It took us 11 odd hours to drive to the wall last year, add another 8 hours onto that for the CT chaps!!

Just my 2c worth!CT chaps what do you think???

Methinks Eastern Cape, P.E. is a good option.
1/The drive from GP is as long as to HITW.
2/ We have fished KZN pap.
3/ P.E. has a tremendous variety on offer:
Starting at the Sundays river in the east with miles and miles of beaches for cob and leeries, running over the Swartkops river for estuary fishing with good cob, leeries, springer & grunter.
A few km's closer to P.E. there is the infamous Trophy hunting grounds of New Brighton pier, the beaches and some 3 km's of dolosse giving you access to deep water with a sandy bottom/
The western side of the harbour there is the beach at Happy vally, running up to Something Good and the beacon close to the holiday Inn.
From Something good, the surf changes to rocky fishing with good spots for musscle cracker and cob.
Further around the coast towards Schoenmakers kop is excellent rock fishing with some hot spots like Noordhoek ski-boat club, Blougat, The Willows and a couple more.
You can then also carry on a little way towards Beachview, which again has sandy bottoms running for miles.

The shape of the coastline is such that from central P.E. you can reach most of these places within 15km, at most maybe 25km.

In-eds are a plenty.

And we got the E.C. gang, ready and eager to guide us.

Eastern Cape was midway between CT and JHB.
KT... there were 4 CT guys who pitched to last years BBash. Def, Psy, Will and Patrick.

There were about 14 JHB boys.
How do you work out 11 hours from PE to Hole in the wall... (or are you including breakdowns here?) - PE to HITW is max 600 kms...??? JHB to HITW was 1100??? JHB guys have DONE their bit last year.

But nothing is done and dusted yet... thats what this thread is about... to discuss things. Thought of getting Offshore guys involved I reckon is a fab idea.

Besides, KT, you and Trophy and the guys need to learn how to catch fish from somewhere other than Brighton Pier...!:SSS LOL!!
(PS- joke...!! I have the utmost respect for you PE fishermen!!)

We fished the EASTERN CAPE last year...!!!

We're looking for input from how many guys are prepared to drag their boats to a BBash? As in... including the OFFSHORE members.
