As alot of you guys know I have juist got into the Shark thing. What a holiday it was, but no non-eds:(, but that didnt stop me. Natal is coming up in Easter and even if I fish all day everyday I am going to get my Shark.

But here is a report none the less. It is pretty dismal.

Rock and Surf

Tackle- Poseiden 3L rod, SL50 reel, KFGA YELLOW.

Rig- Sliding

Bait- Sand Prawn and Chokka

Fish caught- 2x Kob- both undersize.

                     1x Rockcod- undersize

Dropshot

Tackle- Berkley Tactix 7ft, Daiwa Exceller Plus 3000E, 8lbs Fireline, Berkely vanish leader.

Lure- Cammo worm

Spot- Kariega river

Fish- 1x Blacktail, 1x Rockcod

Throw Net(First timer at this)

4x mullet

2x tiny rockcod

1x Catfish

All in all the weather was good and Cannon was beautiful as usual, at least I got some surfing in and some tanning. At least the sun and the waves treated me better than the fishing;)

Well theres my first Sealine report.

Hope everyone had a safe and happy festive season.

Regards

Steven

i fished the whole sunshine coast from mpekweni to perde vlei on the sundays coast since a laatie and so did my dad and my grandpa - yes the kenton side we got big musselcracker big shad runs on middlebeach and loads of unedibles from kariega mouth to middle beach - also had my run-in with those big sandsharks on 4kg line on a spring tide in the mouth - from a boat though - we get that raggies right up the river to hennie venters farm

Awesome yeah i know how far the raggies go up its unbelievable! Had any luck with tiger sharks around there? Coz i know they were pulling a few out on the bushmans side... What baits were you using 4 the crackers and the shad?

Yeah i dunno about the tigers never really targeted unedibles, the crackers we got on siffie(venus ear) - saddleback - any prawn - red crab - octopus leg(deadly for black cracker aswell) the shad a whole pillie or just the backbone and head will do when they're thick!

shhh

Hey, that's unfair, we normally go every December to Bushman's for 2 to 3 weeks and i fish every second night. Couldn't go this past December, so jealous. Last year I caught a +- 50kg diamomdray at the second powerlines up the river, gave me a good fight for 40minutes on laight tackle.
Will probally go at the end of the year.

hey, caught it on live bait, between the 2 powerlines and before the game fence entering the river on the left as you go up river, theres a spot that goes to 5.5 to 6m deep. also near the little boat that sticks out the water on the right hand side on low water.

at night i only catch with live bait and inkvis that we spear at night before going out, thats the best bait ever, but it must be fresh.

we catch kob, grunter, sometimes barber, mudcrabs, long time back leervis and skipjack, and when the easterly blows a couple of days, the cold and clear water enter we catch elf. theres also steenbras

Sounds awesome hey! What live baits do you use? Yeah what has happened to the skipjack and the leeries???? My dad has told me stories about how they used to just pull them out up river... But I have been trying for 3 years now, especially leervis, and have had nothing... And in the last year Ive only seen 1 leervis been pulled out!
