Artlure at Rhenosterkop

I just recently joined Classics Spinfishing Society which is an Artlure Club. We had a nice day at Rhenosterkop this past Saturday where we were introduced to the sport with some seasoned artlure guys, each boat had a "teacher" to show you the ropes. The day was a belter . I learned so much from Dicky who was not shy to part with information. The way this man reads the water and knows what to do was amazing. My achilles heel was that I have a duck with no trolling motor, we used a telescopic swimming pool pole to move around the shallows which was tiring and you cannot get to areas quick enough. None the less I caught in the region of 30 fish for the day, mostly Bass and a couple of Makriel, we dipped for Carp but were unsuccesful (could not get to the bubbles quick enough - trolling motor).

My honest opinion of Artlure "ITS AWSOME"!!

Hey Otto

Glad to see another happy angler thats got a bad case of the artlure fishing bug! I love it when we as seasoned artlure anglers gets to share our amazing sport with new members. The carp was quite difficult and I was very fortunate to get a carp in the shallows. Ironically I caught mine while we using the pushing pole as the carp was in to shallow water for the trollingmotor. I was also very impressed with the enormous vleikurper we caught, I caught one measuring 24cm. I also got a bass on a carp leadhead while targeting carp's on bubbles with my casting rod, and must admit it was a nice surprise!

Hi Otto, it was a huge plessure to introduce such a nice bunch of anglers to the artlure sport! I can promise you, you have only experienced the tip of an iceberg!

Ek het gewonder hoe julle die makriele gevang het. Ons het laas jaar 'n komp daar gehad en (ek dink) die makriele is almal in die inloop gevang, met klein spinners of deur saggies langs die snotterbelle te klop. Sal graag wil hoor of daar makriele iewers anders gevang is, en hoe.
