How was the fishing at Rietvlei.
However we went to Oberon yesterday and we managed to get 22 carp , smallest of 1 kg and biggest of 4kg , unfortunately we did not take any pics , as we forgot to carry the digital camera.

Yes thanks the Little Man is Better. I blanked at rietvlei, i know there was about 2 or 3 carp that came out all of them +10Kg...

We sat where the safari tents used to be .
Casting distance between 80 and 130m , as the day progressed , the deeper you had to fish.
we had no set bait , as the fishing constantly changed.
We used the following :
FX floats , red Juana floats or cina1 floats all with SWD backing.
Banana Mielie pits with SWD backing
Dips : fx , stuttaford , banjo , honey , tjop tjop , pinks sweets and all rounder
the best combination for me was , thin line of pinks sweets and all rounder on the ball with FX floats on top hook with SWD backing , bottom hook SWD and cast out to 130m.
Traces used was gly rietvlei 1.5 mushroom sinkers.
Bite tempo was 30min plus . Fish started biting early morning and went quite throughout teh day with the odd fish here and there but from 3pm onwards teh bite tempo was under 10min.

Aqua will forever be my most ultimate destination on the Vaal, it is truly sadening to see a legend of a place like Aqua closing down.
Some fantastic pics there boet, seriously almost brought a tear to my eye as I haven't been to aqua for 3 months or so.

Good news is that its not closing down, apparently the managers wife was spreading the rumour that it is closing, as they being repaced..! fired, disposed of...!!!!
