Fished Arniston Saturday & Sunday, Saturday we arrive at 3pm so we go throw at otter and Romans as half our crew is yet to arrive and so we hang around close to base. Skaamies and Barbel waste our bait so we decide to go make out braai and prepare the the night session.
5pm other half of the crew arrive and the boys slat a braai of note! mmm those nippies i can still taste them. anyways we decide to try Romans from about 7:30 till about 9:30 and all that comes out is small Belman... like pests they wont leave the bait alone and give the big boys a chance to bite and some small steenies.
We Pack up and head off to Galjoen Gat, or rather about 100m to the left of Galjoen Gat. 1 of the crew goes one immediately with some Barbel and so does everyone else, still the guys is optimistic and we persist, and then about 30mins later its bang on goes one of the Guys with a Steenbrass of about 4kg's enuff to get everyones tails up, a few minutes later another crew member gest a Elf of note! now we all rather exited....alas the pesky barbel made a return visit and just did not give the rest of the fish a chance to bite. so at about 4 am we diced to go hit the hay and try again on Sunday.
Sunday was blown out but not as bad as the reports on the Dam, Pearly and Hermanus side was but still strong winds and water. so we decide to go to Galjoen Gat and Oesterbanke, there's some nice holes and some of the crew decide to not go down as they dont smaak the weather, myself and 3 others say Galjoen gat looks good for it as ther was a hole i was eyeing and was really looking forward to hitting that, 1st throw and sinker lands up about 50m to my left. I reel it in again and take a shallow throw and then same thing but just as i'm reeling in i feel something go tight and bang its fish on just as the water washes up on top the shore I see a 3kg steenie, and the 3 okes moves closer to hit the same spot but nothing water was just too strong and wind too unpleasant to fish in so we decide to pack up and cruise the coastline.
Will post Pics as soon as I get them.
