i was there yesterday and we blanked...apparently Sunday looks good... I was at Struis.... planning on running to the 12 and then we got bad reports from a boat that was there so we did a quick look at the 5 and came back...good luck!

Hi Gents,

My mate went up to Elands this morning for a surf ... Cooking, Crowded and Very warm...
Maybe the tail are up the coast... Any news from Yzerfontein lately?

Good luck for all you guys up at Struis...

I'll look this side if  the swell drips off.

Cheers,
L

Diving conditions on sat were not good at all strong winds with a milky/brown coulour to the water and as for sun a couple of boats did launch for the outer reefs but if they got anything i dont know, one boat that i watched launching at about 6:30 on sunday was back by 9:30 but i dont know if they got anything

Hi WP,

Based on your report on Saturday we were still desperate for a dive and decided to launch at Struis and run to the 12 hoping the water out deep would be better.Water was clean on top but 10m down got nasty. We did a few drifts pulling the flasher with no luck so took a run to the 5 where the water was pretty similar. We got 1 small tail right on the surface and took a quick look at the Pioneer on our way in.On the recce dive one of the guys was chased literally right onto the block by a small but very aggressive white, luckily the swell was small enough that we could get right up to him to pick him up,although his buoy line got stuck on the block which made for a few interesting manouevres over it to try get it off, just as we were kitting up to jump in with one guy as back up we managed to free it.

Another dive boat had a stripe marlin on their flashers at the back of the 5 but didn't manage to get a good shot in.

Hey there,

We eventually went out at Arniston on Sunday morning but the vis was not great. We also got chased off one of the wrecks by a smallish white.

We were out for about 3 hours but all aboard scored a big fat zero as no fish were taken.

Better luck next time I'm sure

Hey SK,

Cape Point should be firing this time of the year... However, it is not. There's been a few days where the fish have been landed by the shore & boat anglers alike. But it has been a poor season with poor vis & water temp. The water's been Greeeeeen! They are around, but quite hard to find. The weather looks amazing for the next week. I was going to head down today, but there is a big swell running in the bay still. Sunday's my next attempt. I'm sure that the reports will be more favourable in the not too distant future...
Watch this space...

Cheers,
L
