Arniston Diving

Hi Guys

Can any one tell me when its the best to dive Arniston i.e wind and swell conditions.

I'm a new spero and shot my 1st Galjoen at Caravans 3 weeks ago, now i'm hooked. A bit scary diving on that side of the world so close to seal island(GW area)

greetings Nuke... have a look at some of the forums about arniston... all the information is there... I haven't managed to get good vis there but the potential there is crazy! great spearing! this weekend seems like another right off cause of all the swell... anyone has any ideas on where to hunt in the cape?

I live in Melkbos, but the swell is to big at the moment to dive.

diving arniston in winter works on a light west or north west...if u got a boat try the back of saxon or the wreck or even miles barton...skipskop...winter a good time for big stumps..bankies and the odd big tail...if ur gonna shore dive, roman or porters rock of the beach...gallies, white steenbras and look in the caves for bream and baardman...needs to be flat tho...any swell over 2m is too big. summer months the south easter brings the current in and blue water on skipskop makes for some insane diving!!..good luck..

Hi WP, ja we must hook up when the time is right for a dive here in the Bos. Went spearing at Falsebay yesterday, water was clean and flat but i didn't get much, 2 small hotties.

Ja, as die gogga jou eers gebyt het dans dit nag. Ons duik maar meeste van die tyd Caravans as dit skoon is, anders bly ons maar langs die bamboes. Wil graag die lang naweek in Agustus Arniston duik. Sal maar sien hoe die weer op hou.

Hi Zip, nee my vrou is nogal heel cool met die ding, solank ek net vir haar n galjoen bring is sy happy. Sy is al gewoond aan al my sport, kite surfing, motocross bike, surfing bla bla. Ek surf nou meer en as dit plat is doen ek die duik ding. Best of both worlds!
