With the annual Arniston comp starting on friday, we decided to head out and spend the night on struisbaai harnour wall, the thursday night. We got some livies and eventually landed a smoothie. (Only action for the night)m we then got news of a 45kg cob that was taken on "die plaat".. Any way, so off to arniston we go to kick the comp of that friday afternoon. The Wind was Gale... Rough seas etc etc wich made for some hard fishing. The blacktail were there but the gallies was scarce, and with the cold wind and strong seas, most anglers packed up early. At the prize giving we had a group off 56 anglers checking out all the fish. We had 2 disqualifications as 2guys weighed in undersized fish, but other than that, everything was great. The biggest fish was a gallie by Grant Meyer of 1,45kg. My team came in second with the second heaviest bag. All in all another great weekend with great friends!
