Some people are launching at the shore opposite to Aloe. It is downstream from Aloe - there are always shore anglers. It is more central both sides downsteram and to the wall. I think it is also closer to Pretoria. Do you know?

I don't know about closer to pretoria.
There were several PAP-Swaaiers along various banks and people launching in various parts of the dam.
We saw a guy in a very small blue canoe being followed by a croc almost double it's length.
Aloe is a nice overnight Place but there prices are steep.
R30 per person per day
R30 per boat per day
R30 Per veichle per day
R40 per campsite (6 people)
Would be great to know what the alternatives are.
It would also be nice to be more centrally situated in the dam as you mention for both up and downstream fishing.

Ryan,

How is the security at Arabie dam these days.

I can still remember times when you had to get a car guard to look after your stuff when going out on the water.

Awesome report and great photos.

Ryan, next time you go fish Arabie, try going throug the moses or moos river....

It often happened that we had no success at the dam and drove around to the river and we struck gold.13 carps from 1pm to 5:30pm all between 2 and 6 kg and lest we talk about the barbel.

There is a slipway aswell but not in such a very good condition.

I hope this might help you, cause i always had very much success there
