All plans are made and we are ready to go. Will probably be out of Pretoria no later than 14:00 tomorrow.

Its dads and daughters weekend so going to be special. One of my buds is taking his 11 year old daughter and I am taking my 12 year old.

She has decided that she had of me sulking because I don't have a fishing partner. Since then, this is going to be my 4th weekend out fishing with her. First time in a scenario such as this. She just loves fishing.

For those who reads the The Tight Lines, page 38 (December edition) left top corner a photo of her with her 1st Bass that I have send in and was published.

Hopeful to meet you there. Beige Discovery, three tents and lots of Gazebo's.

Sounds good,

Im probably gonna be in a blue A3, only getting there sat morning, but hey, i kinda know where you gonna be fishing........:::S:::S:::S

did you manage to get platties???? if not il get some extra....:wfish:wfish

Still trying to find some, hopeful to pick up a few this afternoon on my way back home. I've been out of carp and barbel fishing for quite a while and lost all the connections. If you can bring extra it will be great, I will refund.

Had a great weekend. No real fireworks on the fishing side but I love the place and will definitely go back.

On arriving Friday quite a lot of people already in. Dean your spot was taken so we sat approximately 100m left of your spot. Did snag few times but was not a massive problem.

Caught approx 17 fish mixture of grass carp, common carp yellows and 2 barbels (baby and bit bigger than the baby). Pick up the first "bigger baby" Friday night with grass carp head after being in the water 30 minutes. Used the same head again and 10 minutes later again a nice run but dropped it. After that no runs on any of the barbel rods for the rest of weekend....oi, no good.

Weather was funny with Friday evening and especially Saturday morning overcast and cold.

We started packing up Sunday morning at approx 09:00 at which time both groups left and right of us started catching some nice carp.

We had great fun with the girls and they were kept bust most the time so what more can one ask for. Did take some time to explore the river bank available and ID'd one or two spots that I will visit next. Photo of the bigger baby attached.

Except for the one grass carp of which the head/fillets we used all fish were released.

Cheers

Looks like you had a good weekend overall.  Nice fish

Noel,

When are going back to this joint?

I am going to Sedgefield for December holidays so will probably only be able end of Jan beginning Feb.

Wess,

No chalets and as mentioned before, ablutions not great. Working toilets, showers and basins but not in good condition and only cold water available. These ablutions are servicing the "middle part" of the river front. Just after reception there is a gate to the left and right hand side. These gates leads to the left and right sides of the river front. In both these areas only long drops available.
