Anything biting ( newbie )

Hi there all
So I am new to this site and looking to start taking fishing a lot more serious as I have moved to richards bay and well there not much to do.
I have see a few reports that maphelane is a good spot and st Lucia . But I have no idea how safe is it esp fishing alone.
Currently in durban for this week anyway I can take my nephew to catch a few shads or edibles to have some fun.

Shad were present at Shad Place (toti) and Winklespruit. Got to get to the spots early. I fished at Ansteys and just 1 caught shad  - undersize (released).
