Not too cold in the summer??
Ive dived before once or twice, those 10m dives, allot of fun and wanted to start when i came back from England, but the gogga called "bass fishing" bit me and now i dont have time to go and scuba...lol
But ive heard of mean fish in there...I think Pomerob dives, and he is a regular at basslake...so he can maybe tell you allot more...The big one of those two pics, was taken on a smaller bass, so im sure it can be interresting to see how they behave...

HI Fishton in Summer it seldom goes above 15 - 2 meters down. There are massive thermoclines and water can drop 4 deg within a few meters
I dived in JAN and froze my goolies off.......
I like water around 20

hey basslover, how much did your whole float tube setup cost you? i think i should invest in one. i really want to go to bass lake again, but there is no way i'm getting in that canoe again. that was way too expensive to be blown around like an autumn leave

Hey mate...welcome back, well i bought my tube for R1800..and got a second one now for R1200
But the one i have is about R2200 at the moment and you can go for the mini that is R1500 at sollies...Perfect for your size, then you need to buy a pump and fins...Then your off, oh and if you wanna fish the winter like i did, well then you need to get waders, i also bought a life jacket for those busy dams and the vaal river...rather save than sorry!

That is awesome, guss that means sticking to natural colours?
Yes, if you wanna catch the big ones...but you can use any colour for the smaller ones...so it doesnt matter what you use...cause you need to catch small one to catch the big ones.

Phoned Bass lake...and it looks like they will be open for another two weeks or so, but they will be closed for October.
