hi guys

i will be going out to sea on a jetski for the first time, at end of march  and would like to know how to release/unhook a  fish if its too big! i heard that some fish may topple you off into the drink and then:ssswim:; i know if its a shark to just cut the line, but if its a sailie or bigger fish do you do the same and then what happens to the hook ? i would like to read other guys close encounters  on jetski's if they had any. i'm very anxious since i will be going out alone and dont know if there are any jetski guys in vilanculo.

ps (  i very seldom eat fish and thats mostly at a fish&chips shop)

i also feel lousy for asking for information all the time and dont have anything to give in return because i'm new to fishing especially boat/jetski fishing.:thankie

Hi mh,

You will catch sharks I'm sure at some point. And you will definitely get 'taxed' while bringing in a good catch every now and again.

***IMPORTANT***
Not a good idea to go out alone, we have all done it though. Just be very careful and let people know what time you expected back.

MH,

Agree with Fishton.......don't go out alone. Or make sure you have al the right equipment and radio aids. Must confess I went out alot with a friend with me on the ski, but the it was in SA and in places where there was radion contact and where family could arrange for a rescue if there were a problem!
