If you would like i could give you a tour around our club facilities and introduce you to a few of the members.
If you come down to Ansteys on a saturday or sunday at 6am this is the time most of the chaps launch now that its going into winter.

Unfortunately we closed the club.
We had amalgamated with the lifesavers club and where growing very quickly.
Greed set in from the lifesavers club side, they wanted to jack up our annual membership fees to an amount that equalled that of a ski boat club.
Obviously all the guys were disgusted and didnt renew their memberships favouring other clubs.
Most of the guys still launch from ansteys early on saturday or sunday mornings.
Try get there before 6am for a meet and greet

i wont go without my safety stuff but was mostly under the impression that you need to belong to a club.
just if i want to go fish like at veggies. do you have to belong to one op the clubs there? and the spoke of a disc you need for the harbor and around veggies? or did i understand wrong and if you kayak is fully rigged you can lunch from veggies beach and fish?

That has changed, in the recent past the harbour captains juristiction was from Blue lagoon (Umgeni river mouth to Isipingo (Cutting). That has all changed now and his juristiction ends at the harbour entrance. I know i will get come back on this one, but that is from the horses mouth from Capt Sen when i did my DOC last week.
Nope all you need is your safety equipment, Durban paddleski club does not own the ocean and cannot impose their self regulatory rules on anyone using the ocean.
According to SAMSA all you need is flares (Pencil flares will do), a PDF (Personal floatation device or life jacket) 1 lt of water, anchor and anchor rope (Anchor rope doubles for tow rope) and a bailing device. The guys normally use a big sponge.
You do not have to belong to a club, you do not have to have any Identifying markings or numbers on your paddleski.
You will obviously have to have a fishing permit and as an extra on your permit a vessel licence which is an extra R75 if im not mistaken.
