What has your response been to the paddle ski club? are the guys keen to join? I'm a lady fishing ski enthusiast and really enjoy my fishing. I hope the guys would encourage other ladies to fish too. This is not jsut a guys sport, come on guys, bring your chicks and get them involved in your interests :kaykak

I think if you are going to be using the lifesavers clubhouse at Brighton, it may be a bit far from where everyone launches at Ansteys, and just how safe is it down there? Will the lifesavers be watching from there?
I agree with Seahorse. We definately need more ladies enjoying this sport.

Loco, there has been a very good response as there is no club for the guys who like to fish in the bluff area.

As for the club house, its huge and has all the amenities like storage, hall for dances and most essential a pub area.

We don't launch from brighton only at ansteys but when we can't fish the we can now come together and socialise.

Also we now have a club where we can hold meetings. Other clubs like couta crazy and umgeni don't have that luxury.

You also make mention that ansteys is far from brighton well i hope you are not walking down to the beach with your ski, its a 2 min drive approximately 1 km.

Many of the guys launch at the cutting and trawl down to ansteys or launch at ansteys and trawl to the old whaling station and back.

There is a fault line running about 500m behind the shark nets from south pier area to past toti. So plenty game fish and bottom fish are caught.

The only negative is the launch, the surf can get hairy at times. But safety first, if you don't feel comfortable don't go out.

It's so refreshing seeing that ladies are finally getting interested in fishing off ski's. It will be a huge change seeing some pretty ladies out there as apposed to all the hardened sea dogs.

Oh as for safety, the life savers club has employed a full time security guard who has an attack dog with him as well.

The municipality is currently working on placing cameras at brighton, they have already been installed at ansteys.
