Another Try

Ok so I tried again. The first one was a Onde Onda. I made the mould with Mouldmax 30 and the lure was cast with a clear resin (NCS215). I used some reflective sticker over the Mojo sinker I placed right in the belly of the lure. I think it came out alright.

While shopping I saw these plastic bottles (think it is a 2l bottle before it is blown up). I thought that it would make a nice mould for a plug. So I drilled a 6mm hole in the bottom and bent some wire with a sinker in the tail of the plug. I used resin with some red and silver glitter. Once dry the plug comes out of the bottle without any problem. This is what it looks like.

Then I cut the bottle in half for me to make a shorter plug. I wanted a white plug and did not want to spray paint it. I took some automotive paint and mixed it with the resin and poured. It came out perfect. I tested it today in a swimming pool and the swimming action is AMAZING!!!

The bottle the red plug was made from. The shorter white plug was made in another one just cut in half.

Nothing wrong with that onde and those plugs will work for sure!
With all the advice I can not go wrong. The white plug swims so amazingly well. The red plug swims well too on a faster retrieve. I have made a long plug with silver glitter but with the weight in the middle. With the weight in the middle it tends to swim better with a slower retrieve. Thanks for all the help Bennie. Every thing I see there days I thing of how I can make a lure out of it. Im so hooked. Now to catch the fish.

Those look GR8, Bennie, you've created a monster, see what he says about looking at everything thinking how he can make a lure out of it, Ceasar = MUNSTA:shock:

Thank you to you too. The advice you guys gave me is priceless. You guys have crashed and burned till you perfected it, and is so willing to share it with amateurs like me. Thank you again.

Nah man, the advice I gave wasn't all that wonderful, but suppose it helped with getting it done quicker and a whole lot cheaper, Bennie's been in this way longer than me and his advice was GR8, so thanks for the thanks but Bennie should take the credit and of cause you for trying out and sticking to making lures !!!
Anyhows you're welcome and will always be.

Thanks Patric, the silver one I made looks even better, but I gave it away before I could take a picture of it. Ill make another and post some pics.

You are more than Welcome!!

I have been down that road and I know it can be frustrating at the best of times. Stick at it, it all comes together.

Welcome to the addiction!

Caesar, those are awesome! May I ask where one can find that resin, and how much it goes for, quantities it comes in etc?

I made some better looking plugs and Onde look alikes, but work is keeping me so busy lately I just do not get enough time to fiddle around with other ideas.

I will try and post some pics of the new ones

With this plug I used silver glitter in the resin. I then painted the back black and the underside of the mouth red. Covered that with some 2k clear.
