Hi Oldschool

If the frame is aluminium then it can be anodized.

The slide is steel and could be chromed or nickel plated.

There are some other treatments but they are pricey.

Have you asked around at City Guns. I think that the Harrisons are working somewhere else now but they used to have a blueing and chroming tank.

Sea air seems to eat guns alive and it would make sense to have a more salt resistant treatment than plain blue.

I wish that I had paid extra cash and got a stainless pistol (AMT or similar.)

Hi JB
Thanks for the reply.
It is a steel slide. Thought this could be anodized too. oops!

I have not tried my local gun shops yet, as I am dreading the price.

I think chrome plating would then be the right option.
I must add though that the frame was Satin nickel coated about 13 years back at (woah I forgot the name already) and it has not rusted at all. Its just the slide (that was gunmetal black) that started corroding.

Hi

Chrome has a bit of a Tarantino look to it but is very practical. It is quite "slippery" as well so you might find that the pistol cycles more effectively.

LOL!!!!!
I definitely don't wanna be a Tarentino character, but if it is fit for purpose, then so be it.
I prefer keeping it undercover.

Hi Oldschool

There is something about a high polish chrome slide though!

Need a black suite, white shirt and a thin black tie. :dude:

Try Sanderson Special Steels Parow Ind, They do nite riding, it is black but is as good as stainless, I did my Browning 15 years, have not oiled the outside since, not a spec of rust on it, carry it for fishing all the time.
