ANGLING LOG

Hi guys

in keeping a log of all your angling excursions(note that i refer to angling NOT fishing!! :lol:1 )  what are the parameters that u usually note.

heres a list of what i think should be sufficient. what do u think?

 

1. location

2. time of day 

3. wind direction

4. wind speed

5. air temp

6. water temp

7. barometer reading

8. tide

9. wave height

10. cloud cover %

11. bait used

12. fish caught

pretty much covers it,i would just add in the time of year as the fish have differnt feeding paterns through the varies months ... my 2c

try also adding the 3 preceding days weather conditions ie. temp, wind speed and direction, barometer and water temp if possible.

That way if you catch nice fish at a certain spot it might be possible to determine when that spot will produce again.

Also try and include the moon phase. This also plays a role

Make a note if you got a leg over the night before your fishing trip......big voodoo!

No ways T , for me the exact opposite. Maybe that is why I haven't been catching. No leg over.

I also add the method of how the fish was caught,i.e were the fish feeding readily or skelm,presence of birds,type of marine growth on rocks etc. also type of trace used (successfully as well as unsuccessfully),were others catching at the time...the list is endless.one thing I do not do is rely on memory,as it's amazing how soon one forgets seemingly trivial info.
